Amritsar to Hemkunt Sahib Pilgrimage

Start your spiritual journey from Amritsar early in the morning and drive or take a train/flight to Rishikesh, known as the gateway to the Himalayas and a hub of yoga and spirituality. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, visiting iconic spots like Laxman Jhula and the Triveni Ghat for the Ganga Aarti ceremony. Rest well for the exciting days ahead.

After an early breakfast, proceed to Govindghat by road (approx. 8–9 hours). Govindghat is the starting point for the trek to Hemkunt Sahib. On arrival, check into a guesthouse or rest spot and prepare your belongings for the next day’s trek. Take rest and enjoy the tranquil mountain surroundings.

Begin your trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria (approx. 14 km), a small village and base camp for Hemkunt Sahib. The trek is scenic with views of rivers, waterfalls, and dense forests. Upon arrival at Ghangaria, check into a guesthouse or tent and rest. You can explore the nearby Sri Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Gurudwara and prepare for the next day’s early trek.

Start early for the steep but spiritually fulfilling trek (approx. 6 km) to the holy Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara, situated at an altitude of about 4,632 meters. Spend time offering prayers at this sacred Sikh shrine surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan peaks and alpine meadows. After darshan, trek back to Ghangaria for rest and overnight stay.

After breakfast, begin the descent trek back to Govindghat. From Govindghat, drive back to Rishikesh. Relax at your hotel or explore any remaining local sights. Overnight stay in Rishikesh.

On the final day, depart from Rishikesh and head back to Amritsar by train, flight, or road, concluding your spiritually enriching Hemkunt Sahib pilgrimage with memories of devotion and mountain serenity.
